My guess is the orange lines are from reflections off the

drops as they moved downward during that 1/120th of a second. A lot of weird stuff happens very quickly when the surface tension of the water turns the stream into drops.

The visible drops were frozen by the strobe. A flash light was shined on the

drops from the right. See more water pictures in my Macro

folder.

Wow - my kind of image. Very dynamic and the light streaks are fantastic. What an idea! Love the out of focus lights in the background too.. Well done! I'm going into your macro file to see if there is any more new stuff...

Totally excellent! Great use of strobe effect gives view into another time domain (or something :) Good work, and pleasing to the eye.

The good side to this folder is the incredible quality of the images within. Particularly the water shots!

The down side is that you don't share the technical details of these shots leaving us to guess.

The other down side is that now I am gonna "waste" a few rolls of film trying to emulate youir work here.

Keep it going

Water frozen with a strobe as surface tension squeezes a stream into

drops. A flashlight illuminating the subject caused the streaks of

orange as light reflected off moving drops during the 1/120 sec exp.

Much of the sharpness is lost from jpg compression. The original png

file uploaded was much sharper.
