jarek 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Lovely. Great photo. It is a still picture but she looks full of life & motion! Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Oliver, WOW. This is absolutely magnificent. I can't say anything critical about this. I think everything is on the money perfect. I wish I could do B&Ws this well. The lighting is on point, great expression and smile and the composition is great. When you get a chance, please email me and give me some pointers to create B&Ws this great. Thanks. ~Will Link to comment
owp 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Thanks Umair and Will. I shot this in color and desaturated in PS. It's nice in color too, but there's too much color in the background fighting for your attention. I decided it would take too much work desaturating the background with all the hair in the way and I like this in B&W anyway. Link to comment
free2run 0 Posted December 12, 2005 Very beautiful portrait. I also like the color one. Link to comment
owp 0 Posted December 12, 2005 Thanks Wayne. I like them both also. Maybe I'll work on the color. Link to comment
robert_murch 0 Posted December 13, 2005 Wow..... looks great in BW or color. Love the lighting, and the composition is amazing. Link to comment
owp 0 Posted December 13, 2005 Thanks Robert! The trick was manipulating her to face into the light and then amuse her. Link to comment
cyrus khamak 0 Posted December 13, 2005 Hello Oliver, Only a good capture in color can give you such a great monochrome, a job well done and thanks for sharing. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Very very nice portrait. I wondered why you had cut the top of the head, but it is true that if not, the eyes would be in the center. Regards, Henri Link to comment
owp 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Henri, I've had others questions my technique on portraits where I've cut the top of the head off. I think it opens the face up and creates a more intimate portrait. Link to comment
sirabalde 0 Posted December 20, 2005 I get the concept: Your next 100 photos will be pics of your daugher, eh? :-D But she is lovely... really sweet! Plus this is a great moment and her smile looks stunning natural! You can almost hear her giggle... ;-) Works very well in black/white! Link to comment
sirabalde 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Oliver just read what you wrote... I also like cutting peoples head of the top for the same reason... makes photos more of an eye catcher... :-D Link to comment
