Tuhin 2 Posted December 11, 2005 very clean and shiny , as always .. If I remember correctly even with cybershot , your images were as shiny as that of the DSLR's .. 1. do you use any noise reduction software and if so do you use it always ( as here , where ISO is 200 ) and 2. do you sharpen through the in built USM or through any special plug in ? Lets learn something from professionals like you Alec :) .. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Julio, Pandey, Vincent, Will thanks for coming by. Tuhin glad you asked. I used CS2 with about 90% USM after conversion from NEF RAW original file. Some healing tool was use to clean the face of Kathleen (taller) but not Jaslyn. Skin tones were left untouch as it is and resized to 830 X 640. Another slight dash of USM was used before posting. Personally this was a grab shot and I find the 50mm at F/1.8 doesn't produce the clean bokeh of the longer lenses i.e. 300-500mm lenses. That will be better for outdoor head shots. No NR used as the light is bright enough at 1/8000. And yes, the glint in their eyes were from a silver reflector. Hope this helps. Link to comment
Tuhin 2 Posted December 11, 2005 Dear Alec .. to be more precise , 1. do you use any noise reduction software / plug in , if so do you use it always as a part of the workflow ( even if the ISO less and dirts are non existent ) and 2. Do you use any special USM plug in such as the photokit sharpener ? :) Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Soft light, sweet expression, very clear & smooth captured Alec!!! Best regards. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Thanks Richard. No Tuhin, the noise reduction and USM filters from CS2 is more then adequate and I use it only when the light is low as it will soften the image. I have neat image and noise ninja software but really, if you are familiar with CS2 it is as reliable as the top plug-ins available today. Link to comment

sarahunderhill 1 Posted December 13, 2005 Beautiful girls...I think they are famous now.... The CS2 does have some nice new features... I have played w/ the noise reduction but have not applied it to a photo yet. Link to comment

frank_melchior 0 Posted December 15, 2005 which one is the "wild" one? Very easy on the eyes. Nice work. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 15, 2005 Massimo, Melika appreciate your comments. Sarah, you're too kind. Frank, wild one? Nope, not in strait-laced Singapore, kids are programmed to be good. LOL! Just kidding. One is out-going and the other is quiet until she gets to know you better. Can you guess who fits the personality! Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted May 25, 2006 Alec, something abut the simplicity of this shot just grabs me. It is an outstanding double portrait, and I am struggling to find fault. Maybe because it's flawless :)Beautiful girls, beautifully captured. Stunning work, Alec. I don't think any amount of studio lighting and setting up could have brought out the vibrancy and simple reality of this marvellous outdoors portrait.Best regards from Kenya,Mark Link to comment
