jkadash 0 Posted December 7, 2005 A nice lighthouse! Unique! I love lighthouses - I made quite a few trips up the East coast. I think I visited just about all along the coast of Maine, New Hampshire and Mass! If you like lighthouses visit my summer05 folder (not all of them are there yet, but quite a few!) Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 7, 2005 I would have guessed Maine before I looked at the details of this photo. I agree with J, I love lighthouses too, and add old red barns to the list. This one is well captured. Nice lighting, exposure and great composition. ~Will Link to comment
j._ronald_smith 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Gret contrast against the water and sky. It seems to encircle the vibrant red facade of the house. Link to comment
seandepuydt 2 Posted December 7, 2005 Yeah, just got back into town. I?ll borrow a term that our friend from Australia likes to use ? Fruity. May be a little too fruity for my taste. Thanks anyhow. Working late tonight as well I see. Take care - Sean Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted December 7, 2005 Fruity is a good word for it. I was trying to get the subject to stand out from it's surroundings, which would improve this. With some work it could be made to look more natural. I also like the haunted house appearance, which for some reason seems appropriate for this old lonely lighthouse. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Sean, This is another winner. The FG water is lovely with a sky to match. The lighthouse is a little treasure. This really works for me. When is the MF version going to appear? Link to comment
seandepuydt 2 Posted December 9, 2005 Jeff, soon I hope, I should have my new stuff by next week. Thanks - Sean Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Very nice composition and you've managed to create a great mood here. I think it would be perfect if you'd have got more open sea on the left. The warm light in the sea horizon could be a good contrasting motif. A minor pick: I would consider cloning out those 2 power lines on the right of the bulding. Regards, Alex Link to comment
jude_mcconkey1 0 Posted April 13, 2008 I like this view of the lighthouse in Marquette. I was on the other side last week when I shot it. Even though subdued, the red of the lighthouse is still a stand-out focal point amidst the hues and forms of blue. This lighthouse is the reason I found you. Leo commented on my version and said he had a photo of it in his portfolio. When I looked I saw you remark about his saying it was in New England and was he sure? lol.. I said the same thing. Oh, I was just in Escanaba the week before.. love those smokestacks and the industry area. jude Link to comment
