"FOCUS"

Im really not sure why but I really like this photo, other do not they say "he's just standing

still" but for me this one speaks more than almost any of the other "action" shots I took

this night.

 

I would very much appreciate you opinion on this image, is he just standing there for you?

and what would you do to make it better.

I think it's beautiful. The light and composition are fabulous. The cushion behind him seems a visual metaphor for his body. I might have wanted more in front of him, but that tightness on our left seems to foreshadow the unseen opponent. Really well done.. t

This is great, he is just standing there..relaxed. He seems to be looking over at you, but you can just barely see his eye. Nice work.

Environmental portrait par excellence!

One minor nitpick: the DOF looks manipulated. The floor seems to be in focus across the picture plane, but at no point are the ropes. Maybe it's just me.

Otherwise, this is a great photo. The fact that he's not moving says volumes more than if he was. If he was in motion, his intentions would be clear. Since he's not moving, it makes you question why. Is he nervous? Does he not want to be there? Maybe he's just trying to look tough. His demeanor suggests something deeper than would his action. Good shot.

Excellent capture, what a great expression. I love this shot. I read the previous post on this photo. what is up with the depth of field anyway? I do see what he means. regardless, nice work.
