gemccaw 1 Posted December 5, 2001 This is one of a series. I'd like to hear what this image says to you. Link to comment
nejattalas 0 Posted December 5, 2001 Nice composition... Reminds me the words..."Objects in the mirror....". Link to comment
hique 0 Posted December 5, 2001 Maybe something to do with double personality? What it says to the author, I would like to know Link to comment
gemccaw 1 Posted December 6, 2001 What you are saying is one way I would interpret this. I see this as a visual articulation of the darker side of ourselves that we prefer not to think about, dark thoughts which plague us, the bogeyman, etc. Link to comment
erol_a. 1 Posted December 6, 2001 I won't comment on the metaphysics of this, but the composition and tonality are great, Simple, stark, and strong. A very good shadow shot. Link to comment
stacey_demarco 0 Posted December 13, 2001 ...you get that feeling that someone is following you...or watching you? Well...there you have it! Great shot! Was this something you just happened upon? I'm guessing that it was. If so, great timing...if not, still great timing!! The lines and texture of the wall behind him also add a lot to this shot. Link to comment
toni martin 0 Posted April 30, 2002 Sure glad you commented on my photo so I could discover yours! Very talented! Link to comment
eileen_molony 0 Posted May 20, 2002 How weird. To me it says everyone is not how you picture them. Someone on first view can look like a regular person walking down the st. but if you look closer they have a different personality, could scary and rough. Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Very interesting; I like it. I suggest either bringing the highlights higher and the shadows darker, or only darkening (w/curves) the bottom shadow zone (i.e. Zone I & II together). Link to comment
pampolin 1 Posted May 26, 2004 I loved this picture. I would love to make this shot. Great work. Thanks for your comments about my pictures. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted April 9, 2005 Hello Gordon. Well observed. I love this one, and would like to see more of the series. I like the composition very much, especially how you have successfully utilised the "found" grid pattern on the wall, with respect to the placing of the figure, and where his shadow has fallen. You clearly pressed the shutter at the descisive moment (Bresson would have been proud!). As to "what it says" to me: I suppose that it says something about the quiet, benign and often un-noticed power of our sun. The figure appears weak and pale compared to the darkness and enormity of his shadow; something that we can appreciate, but something that perhaps he does not? I see this image as celebratory, not minatory! a6/o7 Regards, Nick. Link to comment
