What a great shot. The detail of the close up is perfect, looks like something out of Lord of the Rings.

great composition but why is it so unsaturated? Ive seen these spiders before and they are usually bright red/orange.

 

The colors on this particular sider are pretty true to life. It is just not a particularly colorful spider.

Beautiful arachnid. Nice shot! ... but, In my opinion, more light are required to detach the legs from the background.

nice DOF considering the size of the subject...considering how difficult it is to get even lighting...you did great...I agree that the color is close to perfect...I have a few hundered of his cousins in my backyard
