A little on the monochromatic side because of the backlit situation but it's OK. I like the textured surfaces of the water. The edges on both sides are very distinct.

If I were you, I would have cropped out the last bit of sky. The brightness drew most of the attention to it.

I also wonder about how this would look like if you were at a lower angle. Were you on a high bridge?

Arthur, Always a pleasure to hear from you. I agree, & this one converts to B&W quite nicely in my opinion. See my Channel Mixer, 100% red, version. I also agree that the sky is a bit of a distraction & that's why I minimized it, already cropping from the original. Easy to crop the rest of it out but I think the skyline with the silos has to be visible here to show the true nature (farm country) of this location. I was indeed on a bridge, an old train trestle now converted into a walking trail, with no chance for a lower camera angle. Best, LM.

The B&W is obviously more abstract. Between the two, I would pick the original. Somehow, the colors (although subdued), gave it more depth and provide more of a "being there" feel.

Arthur, When I first decided to take this one it was the highlights on the water that really attracted my attention. I don't recall being overwhelmed by the colours but I see your point. In any case, we now have two versions to discuss! :-) Best, LM.

Discussion so far has centered on whether or not this one should be

B&W and whether the skyline should be shown or not. Your

views\suggestions will be greatfully received. Ratings without

comments are useless. Be brave, let's READ why you like this one or

not! Best, LM.
