HuskyMason1 18 Posted September 29, 2005 some say a flower is a flower but it takes skill to see somthing like this...nice Link to comment
dennisdixson 0 Posted September 30, 2005 The thumbnail looked like a fish to me. This flower has the look of an other-worldly insect, like a combination between a moth and a parakeet. I think I have seen something like this in an old Japanese science fiction movie. It seems to me sometimes that the only macro shots I ever see are either of flowers or insects (or both). I guess I am just jealous because I have never been able to afford any decent macro glass. On further reflection (reflection is great) I think all of my close-up shots are of pie or some other kind of food. No wonder mine are all blurry. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 30, 2005 Upward swimming tropical fish of your fish tank who sticks its tongue at you, to complain about the el-cheapo fish food you provide, at irregular times, as you spend too much time shooting mutated pumpkins. Now I better reach for my espresso. P.S. This must move to the honest-deception folder. Link to comment
root 0 Posted September 30, 2005 either that or the ratings test folder . . . . sheesh. This reminds me of a flightless bird or a snake, first head on, then in profile. Using a tripod and a dedicated macro lens would have been difficult for some of the shots in this session, impossible in others . . . and that assumes that management of the garden center would have permitted it. These were all shot in overcast conditions, handheld, f2.8 - f4, at ISO 100 using anti vibration. Link to comment
pahrkm 0 Posted October 1, 2005 When I saw the thumbnail, I saw a shrimp plant. After clicking on the thumbnail, I saw a mean looking totem disguised as a shrimp plant! Really nice. Link to comment
guyscrivner 0 Posted October 3, 2005 A very interesting capture. I love macros and I especially like those that make you question what the subject matter is. This is a great example! By the way, I rated this a 6/7 thru the Category / Flowers rate recent. It shows up as a direct rating. Link to comment
