This is a very unflattering approach to fashion photography. If the jeans are what you are showing they need some better lighting! Background is bright and distracting.

Contrary to the previous opinion, I like this image a great deal. In Fact, it follows the lead of some of the best fashion work being done. I like the pose , the angle and the facial capture.

I am glad I caught it on the recent images scroll because I seem to have been cut off from the recent images by people I find interesting section of the site.

Todd, While I respect the fact that you do not hide behind your 2/2 rating, I truly have little respect for your comment.

I whole heartedly welcome constructive criticism which seems to be something you seem incapable of giving. Your criticism of this photograph is based purely on retaliation. You did not like the comment I left on your portfolio and now you are giving me a retaliatory remark. I would remind you that this is against the P.N guidelines. I would also like to re-emphasise the point I made on your portfolio. Those with little or no talent give the worst ratings.

Maybe I am being unfair. You have attempted to be intelligent. You have mentioned the jeans which arguably could be better lit. However, it was not the jeans I was trying to show although I did mention them in my request. This photograph was about 'Blue.' I am sure even you could have worked this out from the title. I wanted to show a tall, well dressed girl. To emphasise her height, I shot it from this angle to show that she was reaching for the sky, which, by the way, is also blue (when it isn't cloudy.) I am sorry if the green tree confused you! I am sure if I had placed this photograph in the 'Portraits' section, you have found another reason to dislike it.

I will not be responding to any more of your comments unless they show respect and a little more intelligence. I realise I will be slated for commenting so negatively on the intelligently impaired. However, if you are going to leave remarks, I am entitled to respond to them.

Owen, It will probably come as no surprise to you that I tend to agree with you more than Todd. Having said that, while I felt Todd was a little out of line with his 2/2, I do feel you are a little too generous. Certainly, I thought this image was original but it does have faults.

Thanks for your support Owen. It is very much appreciated.

The blue colors are nice. So is the angle og the happy model. Thankfully the tree is out of focus, and not that confusing. From your angle they are even more likely to apear.

I would have liked the shot to be slightly more wide. Perhaps! But still just an idea.

It's interesting to read the critiques and your reply. I'd better not join the fight, but you have my full support David.

For a fashion shot, I would have used a little extra light (just from a reflector board) at the bottom of the shot. But I agree with Owen, that your way of shooting, is both seen and accepted.

Cheer up!

Thank's for your honest and informative critique.

I am never against wider angles although in this case, the girl's head may have looked a little small. I hear what you say about the reflector. This was a chance meeting, I was only armed with the camera.

I am glad my reply to Todd did not put you off commenting and / or being honest. I do respect your decision not to enter any debate.

Your comment has cheered me up. Because of this, my next upload will be an amusing one. I hope you will like it! (I will upload it in the next day or two!)

All I can say is it takes one heck of a figure to still look so good at such a dramatic angle. I really need to get to the gym.

I continue to enjoy your unique perspective on the world David. That you don't conform to convention is what makes what you do so refreshing.

I agree that there are some lighting challenges but not enough to spoil the shot.
