Handle with care

kasstzam

Not an original pose, my first attempt. Converted to B&W in Channel Mixer at 100% red, then resized. Original size is sharper around the eyes.

You would think that I had carved this photo up with a butter knife the way you guys are hacking on me..sheesh!!

I wholeheartedly agree with you all that this a a great photo...or a 'very fine photo' as I stated in my earlier post. It is indeed technically pretty much perfect in my opinion.

Remember that 'original' means different things to different people. Take a look at my portfolio, I am hardly a shining beacon of originality so you could all critique me the same way.

However.......when I said I have seen this a million times before..it is true. The 'one arm holding the baby against a perfectly black backdrop' is such an obvious rippoff that it ruins it for me. At one time..long ago this was indeed a very unique idea for a photograph, but I have seen too many variations on this.

Yes I know that nudes, landscapes etc often have similarities, but I see this differently. The only thing unique about this photo is the excellent execution of the photographer.

Hello, I've just seen this on the PN front page.

I love this shot, it had a well deserved place in the opening credits of Picture This.

This picture is great, has a lot of meanning. I'll think it would be great too if there?s a male open hand in the left side, and a wider proportion of the frame (give it a try, without forgetting the credits to Richard). :)

Was this the picture you submitted at that WDC International

Photography convention? in 2004? It looked like. Were you the

grand prize?

I love this picture. Excellent.
