Is the sky real - or rather, was it shot with the foreground? The reason that I ask is that it seems to have noise but the foreground doesn't.

Not sure how you captured this but it's a stunning image. It feels like two separate photos that blend to make one fabulous image.

The sky depicted in this photograph was actually the sky that occurred when this photograph was taken. It is not a merger, simply a product of timing and a little luck.

Love the color! Great that you had the "luck" (as you mentioned) to be at the right place at the right time to capture this. The pinkish hues in the rocks really pick up the pinkish hues in the clouds well. Good job!

You may wat to try sharpening the ground half only and not the sky. This will reduce the noise in the sky. Very nice anyway. What ISO was this shot at?

Beautiful picture! It's unusual to have the foreground lit so well, and so nicely detailed, in a sunset picture. I guess the sun was setting somewhere behind you? Well captured!
