It looks like you were driving along in a truck where you new there would be a pool of water, ready spray some unsuspecting passer by. I am not 100% sure how you got this, but it is definitely interesting!

It is very interesting, you were ready for the moment. I like the mood, the photo screams summer....

Thanks for the comments and the ratings to every one... I spent there over two hours, fountain was very little - I waited on wind, on somebody who just will go, I made over hundred shots, but only a few sharp - this was very difficult. Thanks for the very nice comment.

Rgds.

Photo has come out superb. Especially the blur affect of the person's trousers behind the water has added very good attraction to the photo.

I thought this was ice from the thumbnail, so got quite a shock to see summer clothes and warm sunshine behind the water when I went full-size! It's very other-worldly; looks like a place where the material and spiritual worlds meet and your subject (the woman) is totally oblivious to the spiritual attack about to happen....

This one picture's sparked off a novel in my head!!!!

This image has been selected for discussion. It is not necessarily the "best" picture the Elves have seen this week, nor is it a contest. It is simply an image that the Elves found interesting and worthy of discussion. Discussion of photo.net policy, including the choice of Photograph of the Week should not take place here, but in the Site Feedback forum.

When including images, please make sure they are relevant to the discussion, not more than 511 pixels wide, sufficiently compressed and make sure to enter a caption when uploading.

Very neat affect from the water, almost like a Hollywood special effects shot. As someone mentioned (prior to the POW) the water appears to embody some fierce animal like a lion or a dragon. It seems that the image is open to several interpretations. Is the woman?s alter-ego represented by the entity represented by the frozen water or is she being stalked by its presence? She almost appears to be morphing into another shape.

Pretty nice in-camera effect, it looks like your persistence paid off. For some reason I am now overcome by the urgent need to purchase a flavored performance enhancing sport drink.

Tomasz, this is a superb shot. The only improvement, and knowing me it will do with cropping, is to crop a little of the top part off. This will make the girl headless, OUCH, but then again, she's out of focus and the rest of the top just grabs our eyes and we go out of the image up there, ending our visit way too early.

Now scroll down on the image so that's she cropped just about at the neck, go ahead up there and try it. Notice now how you end up examining the water and the abstract much more, and longer, thus making it a more impactfull image? Plus, it makes it a little more intriguing, as it's not readily seen that it's a lady, it takes a few more seconds figuring it out, and I love mysteries that can be figured out. I already love this image, but would even more so with the crop. It would be a win/win change. Blessings and congrats, first POW in a while that moved me, Michael Seewald- artist/instructor.
