Nikon FA - flash questions.

Hello,

I have a few questions regarding Nikon FA in a flash photography:

1. Is a flash correction possible in A/S/P mode if I use a dedicated

flash unit in TTL?

2. Does the exposure correction dial works as a flash correction in M

mode with dedicated flash?

3. Can I set any of the shutter speed up to 1/250 in the S mode

during a TTL flash operation?

4. Does the camera change the shutter speed in A mode or it is fixed

1/250?

5. I heard of F3 users taping the pins in a hot shoe to get rid of

certains problems that I mentioned. Does it apply to FA as well??

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hi, Here are my answers:

1) Flash correction on the Nikon flash doesn't work with the FA.

2) Yes, you can use the exposure correction dial as a flash correction in M mode. You can also use the exposure correction dial in A mode, but the shutter speed will be locked at 1/250.

3) You can not use P and S mode with TTL flash. What happens is the aperture will be set to the smallest setting (f/22) when you use TTL flash and you get underexposed photos.

4) With flash, the camera fixes the speed to 1/250 in A mode.

5) Not sure about this, but I suspect you might get full shutter speeds in A mode, but you won't get TTL.

Aaron,

Thank you for your answer. This means that A mode with TTL flash is a manual mode with fixed 1/250 shutter speed? Do you know any website with instruction manual for this camera?

Thanks again
