Canon G2 info needed

Hi,

 

Thank you in advance for helping me out - anyone can tell me if:

 

a. G2 is able to manual focus _and_ remember the values of this

focusing despite being turned off, automatically focusing at the same

point when it powers up again ?

b. It focuses with moving it's lens out of the body ?

c. Is it a big hassle to use filters ?

The G2 is able to manually focus (its a pain to use as far as I'm concerned and I've learned to just lock focus and recompose). It will not remember this information if you turn the camera off because the lens then retracts back to its off state. To use filter you need to either purchase the filter attachment and then use 58mm? filters or hold filters in front of lens. I have not done this but it doesnt appear to be much different than many non-slr type digital cameras. I have held a polarizing filter in front of the lens with some success.

Hi there. As mentioned, it does not remember the setting when you switch off the camera. Manual focus is a hassle with the G2. If you need to use filters, you would need an adapter, and the best one according to me (i use it) is the lensmate adapter, which takes 49mm filters, u can find it here, www.lensmateonline.com. happy shooting! cheers!

If you want to use the camera primarily in the manual focus mode, pass G2. It's not usable except for some studio-type work.
