david_willecke
I am a Pentax user and want to det a DSLR, but my impression from reading about the ist*D is that it was a decent 1st attempt by Pentax and it seems like they could iron some bugs out with their next model. Does anybody have any information on when Pentax might release a 2nd DSLR? Will they go for a more profession camera, or cheaper like a D70? emaxxman
IMO, they would be better off producing a consumer level DSLR like the D70 and Digital Rebel. Developing a pro level spec has to be a tough market to break into and make your money back.
gjm1
From what I have heard, rumors of course, Pentax will introduce 2 new DSLR's during this falls Photokina. One will be a D70/dRebel competitor and one will be a higher end "professional" camera. We will just have to wait and see. Gord
hendrik
An MZ-S digital perhaps?!<div></div>
gjm1
Dreaming is a good thing, it gives hope for the future. :D Or, we could thump the Pentax marketing/planning/engineering/management team if they fail to deliver our holy grail of a camera, the MZ-D. Peace be with you. ;D Gord PS: All in good fun.
Sandeha Lynch
Their new digital is almost certainly going to be that rangefinder that everyone's been talking about.
ron c sunshine coast, qld,a
The rebel/d70 competitor would be a seriously welcome thing to a whole shipload of pentax users!
hendrik
Ron, The ist-D is as good as a D70 and IMHO better than a 300D Canon. It has the same Sony chip as the D70 (and D100) Nikons. The price? That is where the problem is! The other two are FAR better priced.<div></div>
