Many say Fuji S2's image is superior. How much PS to get the D70 to the same quality?

Slightly OT: Using Nikon Capture 4.1 on your D70 RAW images, and the LCH Chroma curve control, you can not only get Fuji S2 like pop, but fine tune the saturated look far more easily than in Photoshop.

 

Get the D70-not only because of the reasons above, but simply because a 2 year gap between cameras is a huge gap in terms of technical refinement in cameras. The extra money saved could go towards DX or other lenses, or the SB-800/600 flash which allows you to do remotely mounted TTL flash or even an upgraded Pentium computer. $1000 buys quite a bit.
