kferris575
I am considering another trip to Denali in September. Last time I was there, several photographers had mentioned that the best area for Dall Sheep possibilities was an area a little west of the Teklanika campground. Does anyone know the name of the area they were referring to? ThanksKevin Ferris
doug herr
They can almost always be found on Igloo Mountain.
qtluong
When a herd is somewhere, they tend to linger there for a while. If sheeps are seen while you're on the bus, just ask the driver to drop you a bit further (they are not authorized to drop people at the wildlife seeing spots) and hike back. Last year I had good luck before Sable Pass.
ken_timmreck
Best thing is to contact one of the Rangers at Denali directly and get the best info possible as to when to go and where.
ron_niebrugge
Doug's right, it seems there are always sheep (one of the best places to find rams) on Igloo Mountain, just West of the Tek. Campground. You can get up the mountain on a trail across from the Igloo Campground.
