linda_pullman
As I heard Canon TC 1.4x is fair, but TC 2x is not too good. What is better: 70-200 f2.8/f4 L + TC (1.4x/2x) or 100-400 L? Which solution could give better image quality? Did you have a chance to compare them? How about Sigma 100-300 f4? Thanks for any advice, Linda
jbq
The issue isn't necessarily that the TC isn't good, but rather that enlarging the image 2x magnifies any lens defect by 2x. Don't forget that with a 2x on the 70-200/4 you'll lose autofocus on most bodies.
richard_pellom__long_live_
Canon's 2xII is by far optically the finest 2x TC made. Unless your a NASA scientist (or enlarge to 20x30 with a 10x loupe), I doubt that you would notice much degredation in your images. It's a great tool and you will probably be surprised with the results. I wish I had a scanner to show you the proof!
