david_b3
Hi all. Im considering heading down to the Palouse region of Washington State early next month for the weekend. Anyone know what the field conditions are at this time of the year. Im guessing mostly tilled black soil. Are most of the side roads gravel or dirt? Are they ok this time of the year in a car? Know of any hotels that take dogs? Thank you in advance.
mike f
I believe it is too early for any green. July is much better. Roads are paved except part of the Steptoe Butte Rd and it is good gravel. A few of the side roads are gravel. If you really get on a very few of the very minor "roads" they are dirt (when dry. Any run-off and and they is mud!) Your car should do very well. We have travelled this area in a motorhome and had no problem even in February. (Except for the mud in a few places) Very few motels. Get on the internet and try the websites of the Chamber of Commerce for a few of the bigger communities for accomodations. (I wish they had a spell check on this thing)
