karl_georg_wolf
Skully, great idea! Out of several reasons I had almost decided never to come back here. But today you made my day, thanks! Best regards
stephen_jones4
I've counted 7 really interesting pictures here - by far the most I've ever seen on a thread. I'm lterally not bored. Personally, I think Wayne should be knighted if he's the ultimate cause of this change of direction.
wayne_murphy8
I think that ultimately, this has been worthwhile. It seems to have made people think about their photographs . And it has been taken with general good humour. Can't ask for more than that.
stephen_jones4
OK, so they go off towards the end...
mike dixon
Rather than the very-long and hard-to-remember acronym mention above, perhaps we could just use ProTIS--Proof That I Suck.

octavio bustard
Extemely contrived, pseudo artsy, technically incompetent picture:

octavio bustard
Another, possibly even worse:

octavio bustard
<Lomo, anyone? Diana? Holga? Pho-Tak Traveller, perhaps? Use what works, and shoot what works.> Ah, an excuse for MORE self-indulgence!!!! Heres another picture taken with a shoebox. Am I an ARTSY mofo or what?

octavio bustard
Sheldon's is the absolute worst. His takes the terms "artless" and "contrived" to higher levels. The sidewalk blob is pretty good (in a bad way) too.
manu_vermeiren
Why use a shoebox when you can use a Leica and have the same result? ;)
btw, I like those shoeboxpictures a lot, Tim.

fuck
I've seen some of these about thirty times already how about shooting something new?
Guilty as charged. I promise that I won't do it anymore. I have some decent new stuff, but no scanner. I'll try to get to the lab to have some Frontier scans made soon. Maybe after the March Meet I'll have a buncha dragster pictures to post. roger_michel
thanks ray. with kids, its just practice AND using a camera (like the leica -- here an M with the 40mm rokkor CLE) with no mirror blackout and no lag. keep both eyes open right thru the picture. jake_tauber
Tim, Your last "shoebox" pic is cool. If you're not already familiar with her, check out the the work of Barbara Ess who shoots with a pinhole camera.
neild
A question: exactly who on this site isn't a self indulgent clown?? I always knew I was, just look at my portfolio...
neild
Hmm, perhaps I should back up my claim...

mike dixon
I've seen some of these about thirty times already how about shooting something new?
I'm constantly shooting new stuff. Scanning something new is a different matter . . .
