peter_kim2
I've never had anything other than a flimsy compact telescoping tripod and wanted to get a 'real' one. Something around a hundred dollars and small and light enough to carry inside a standard bookbag and resonably well built. The 124B digital tripod seems to be a great option supporting 7.7 pounds, weighing under 3 pounds and folding to around 20 inches. I'll be using it with either a Canon A-1 or an Elan 7e (the biggest lenses I have are the ef 85mm and the ef 28-105 zoom) I was also thinking about the Velbon Maxi343. Does anyone have this tripod? Any good or bad experiences? There seems to be a couple quick release mounts with this too on BandH. Do I need one considering its a ballhead? There a standard no frills one and one with a bubble level for 35. Thanks everyone!
raymond bradlau
Sorry I dont own one but the soecs seem decent, I was thinking about one as a backup since they are 3 lbs lighter than my current one. I find a ball head much better for 35mm than a 3 way but Im a little put off by the fact you cant remove it from the 124b BTW I think the Canon A-1 was my favorite 35mm camera ever, I beat the hell out of it and just kept clicking away, I doubt my new AF would take half the abuse I gave the A-
