websterforrest
Hi,Just a quick note, to those who may not know already, there is to be a large retrospective exhibit of Dian Arbus's work (including prints, contact sheets, notes, etc.) at the V&A from 13 October 2005 to some time in January. Here is a link to the V&A page: http://www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions/future_exhibs/arbus/ Best wishes, Webster Forrest
jaybee
I assume that this is the same show that was at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts earlier this year. It's a must see exhibit. It was exciting to see her prints of some of my favorite photographs, and it was fascinating to see the contact sheets and notes. Don't miss it! blakley
I saw it when it opened at SFMOMA, and I agree it's a must-see. You should especially take the time to read the diary entries on display. Some of them are startling, especially the later ones. It's the only photography show I've ever been to that made me understand how the photographer SAW the world before she pressed the shutter button...
