babette_ross
I've just started using this along with the Minolta software (b/c VueScan doesn't support the new scanner at this time) and it seems to me that my images might be auto leveled and sharpened although to the best of my knowledge i have not set it to do so. Any ideas as to what might me going on.

I should mention, my old scanner was the canoscan 2710 so i am now scaninng at 3200 dpi - could that account for the sharper feel? mendel_leisk
Regarding autolevels, if you are scanning black and white negatives and setting the Minolta software accordingly, you might very well be getting a lot of clipping, if the software is similar to Scan Dual II software. Vuescan should support this scanner soon, if Ed is true to form.
babette_ross
I was scanning color negatives... and it seems to me when i bring into photoshop on some images thre was a lot of clipping in the red and green channels based on what i saw in the levels historgram. And im hoping Ed gets it up soon, i've been checking daily.
steven_clark
Just hope Vuescan Support of the SDIV has fewer bumps than it did for the 3.
jim_simmons
I've noticed the histograms from my DS IV scans are indeed clipped at the left-hand side (the shadow side, right?). Is there a way of adjusting the exposure setting prior to the final scan to prevent this?
