george_verbryck
I have found that gaffers tape works better than their film holder tape just my .02 . Cheers George
tim_atherton9
there's also a sort of ripstop book repair tape that comes in different widths with one very close to the right width for film holders that does th job very well - sticks like - well - glue, doesn't gum with age and is nice and flexible. Get it from library supply houses - I have a roll that will probably outlast all my film holders

brian_ellis16
Any tape that's flexible enough to allow the flap at the bottom of the holder to open and close will work fine. Masking tape, electrical tape, gaffer tape, even Scotch tape would probably work as a temporary solution if that was all you had. The hinge tape doesn't prevent light from getting into the holder, the light trap at the bottom of the holder does that. All the tape does is serve as a hinge so that the flap can be opened and closed when loadng the film.
