paul webber
Does anyone know if the film size is still available around? Thanks Luca M.
richard_ilomaki
Luca Around where? ERA in mainland China makes an old style film that size called Portrait Film for LF "Portrait Cameras", but I have not seen it outside the PRC. I will be there in a few weeks and will buy a box, cut it down to 4x5 and try it. It would be easy to cut down to 5x7 also as a good source of that rapidly disappearing format. roger_hicks1
Mr. Cad in the UK sells Maco whole-plate, but there are not many sources. A few years ago it was impossible to buy just about anywhere. Also try Freestyle in Los Angeles (they do a lot of Maco) and Films for Classics in New York State. It's a gorgeous format. Alternatively, put a 5x7/13x18/half plate back on the same camera.
Troll
It's a beautiful size film for contact printing. Definitely too bad that it's gone.
jnanian
luca - if you contact http://www.photowarehouse.biz, they will supply you with their asa 125 film ( supposedly it is just like fp4) just tell them the size you need and to cut it for film holders. it is very inexpenive - good luck -john
robert_meyer
I shoot 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 sometimes. In general I cut down 8x10 film to fit. A few months ago I brought a box of Chinese-made film on Ebay in this size. I haven't shot that film yet, but I'll post the results when I do. steve_nieslony2
I will second the suggestion for Photo Warehouse in Oxnard. http://photowarehouse.biz/ Cut to size, with notch... cheaper then buying 8x10 and cutting. It behaves just like fp4 - but they will not say it is. Steve<div></div>
