michael_alpert1
I use a Horseman SW612 Pro with a 55 Rodenstock lens. The camera is a pleasure to use, except for the ground glass, which is very dim even when used with a darkcloth. At times the ground glass is the only reliable way to see what the lens sees. I will appreciate any thoughts and suggestions for modifying the ground glass, for finding an exceptionally good way for sheltering the glass from peripheral light, or for finding an alternative (brighter) glass that will fit the camera. howard_slavitt2
Telephone Bill Maxwell at Maxwell Precision Optics. (404) 244-0095. Maxwell Precision Optics, P.O. Box 33146, Decatur, GA 30033-0146. He sometimes takes a few days to get back to you. But he's a pleasure to deal with, is reasonably priced (not cheap, but reasonable), and will give you a fresnel lens that is everything (and maybe more) than what he promises. He designed two fresnels (one for wide and one for normal to long use) for my Horseman 6 x 9 VH that are fantastic. Good luck.
