brit
I have a Mamiya 645 and cannot, as yet, afford a metered prism. But is there an ad hoc way around this? I have a Sekonic lightmeter that can be used as reflected light meter. With the WLF removed I can get close access to the focus screen. It will be possible to meter from the focusing screen but what success/consistency have any of you had with this route? I only really want to use this to perhaps try to spotmeter a skyscape and to take account of polariser filters which have a variable working filter factor. Traditionally using a manual TLR, polariser and meter in the usual sense I have always exposed skyscapes poorly. Bri.
Rob F.
Brian, I think it would be important to shield the meter and groundglass against stray light. Otherwise, I don't know why it wouldn't work. It would just take a few rolls to calibrate. Is there such a thing as a meter with a separate groundglass probe that seals right against the groundglass? If there isn't, there oughtta be! I think it's a great idea. Keep us posted. Regards,
