r.t. dowling
Not long ago, it was announced that Fuji was going to produce a C41(chromogenic) B&W film. The press release indicated that the productwould come on the market during the summer of 2003. Has anybodyactually seen this film yet or heard anything about it? rich815
I believe it's in Japan and the UK with no plans for USA release.
georg_kern
I remeber that the Fuji-C41-B&W was announced as a Ilford-Fuji colaboration. It is only a very slightly (if ever) modified XP-2. So you don't miss much when it is not available in your area.
leo_griffiths
The film is Fuji Neopan 400 CN, and is manufactured by Ilford to Fuji specifications. I haven't tried it myself, but I understand that it is different to XP2. I am in the UK, so if you really want to try it out I could always buy a couple of rolls and post them; UK prices are approx. US$3 for a 120 roll and US$4 for 35mm. I guess airmail postage to the USA would add another couple of dollars or so. If interested, send me an email. aguilabrava
Leo, is this film "Made in Japan" or "Made in UK"?.
jim r
Dunno if anyone is still following this thread, but there is printer's test report and comparison of this film, XP2 and Kodak Portra B&W in this months Black and White Photography magazine. Sounds like its a more expensive version of XP2, however seeing it printed on a Frontier will be interesting. Hapy Trails...
