john_kothanek1
Never fails when someone speaks up and points out typos or other stuff to try and embarass someone they usually make a fool of themselves. Good going. You made my day buddy. CANDICE for the record welcome to this forum it is full of great info and people with lots of good scoop. I am in nor Cal if you ever want to drive up and make a camera club :) Actually I think a camera club is a fantstic idea. Every other hobby I have enjoys a bit of fellowship even the more solitary sports I do. I hope you find one but if you don't go to a coffee shop next to the university and post up a ad stating you'd like to start one. I would also try Craig's list and post something about getting together. Now if you could start up a quilting bee that takes photos you could REALLY annoy you know who. :)

toan_nguyen
I live in Costa Mesa, 45 minutes south of LA. There is a group of 4-5 folks (both Canon and Nikon shooters) here. We shoot at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary and at Bolsa Chica (Corner of Warner and PCH) every weekend. We shoot mostly birds (redtail hawks, kestrels, white tail kites, ospreys, pelicans, herons...). I plan to hit Yosemite this Thursday, Dec 29th for wintery landscape. I have been doing this for the past 2 years. Join me if you want. The weather forecast calls for heavy snow on Wednesday and snow shower on Thursday. Shots taken past 2 years w/ Canon equipment: :=) http://www.pbase.com/tnt_imaging/yosemite_np http://www.pbase.com/tnt_imaging/yosemite_2
hector_wallot
One place to check out is the CIPPA (Channel Islands Professional Photographers of America) This group is verywell organized and if I had the time I would continue to go. You can also find other photographers if you post anad on local sites in the ventura county section. I met lots of nice people and learned a lot atCIPPA. My mentor, who's been a professional photographer doing weddings and high school senior portraits, waspart of the group and he recommended me to it. I got to see different styles and even watched some greatcompetitions which I also learned a lot from. I highly recommend something like this as there are amateurdiscounted rates. I will be posting about more professional wedding photography, professional wedding dj, andprofessional videographer groups so that all of us professional event services people can have more locals tonetwork with. If you would like to network with me and you are a florist, cake person, caterer, wedding or eventcoordinator let me know as I am also trying to get the word out about my wedding services. You can all visit mywebsite at:
http://www.WallotDigital.com
and or my blog at:www.1venturacountyprophotographer.wordpress.com for tips and samples of my quality work. Tips and advice toaccomplish the above mentioned goals would also be great so if you have some words, please reply here or postthem on my blog. I hope that helped. Thanks so much in advance!!!!<imgsrc="http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w187/hwallot/NewLogo-1-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">
