luisarguelles
Every time I think about it, I find fascinant to realize that my LeicaI Standard was manufactured in 1938 and it yet works very well. MyIIIf is from 1951 and my M2 was manufactured in 1959, just when I wasborn. I bet there are not a lot of industrial products with a so longlife span. How about your Leica age? gib
my IIIf and I are very very close in age --- my Agfa Record III is older by about five years - a gentleman in Munich scratched his name and 1948 inside the back cover

adrian_morgan
Yep - and by a fair margin. My M3 double stroke was produced in 1955 according to cameraquest.com. I was produced in 1972. next year my camera celebrates its 50th birthday. My Nikormat, is also still in service, owned by my father since new, and it just took the photos of the birth of my son - kind of nice to be using a camera as old as I am to photograph him. al_kaplan1
Years ago I had a IIIC a bit older than I am, as well as a 50/2.5 Hektor and a 90/4 Elmar. Now my oldest Leica stuff dates to the late 1950's, not quite half a century old. I do have a wooden 5x7 view camera made by the E.& H.T. Anthony Company of Binghampton, N.Y. They were absorbed into the Ansco conglomerate about 1890. I'm younger than that.
john_brewton
My M4 dates from 1967. That was the year I started college.
perry
Is my camera older then I am? Are you kidding me! Sounds like fun though. WTB daguerreotype circa 1850.
tony_yeung
No, none of my Leicas (IIIf with selftimer being the oldest) are as old as I, but several of my screw-mount lenses are: Summarex, 73mm Hektor, 28 mm Summaron and Hektor. All of these are in better shape than I.
carey_russ
The Ms are younger. The screwmounts are older, some *much* older. But they're all in better shape....
