jim_seaman
Just got my early Christmas present and a surprise. My wife ordered me an Epson 3200 from B&H photo and in the box was a $100 rebate form. Brought the cost of the scanner to about $270 before shipping. Here's a link that lists the rebate: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=ShowProduct&Q=&O=&sku=276440 I'm sure this is due to the new scanner due out but, for my use, the 3200 should be fine. In the one quick test scan I had time to do on a 6x6 b&w negative I was more than pleased with the results. So, anyone waiting to buy a cheap medium format film scanner, maybe this is the time... Good luck, Jim
andy mcleod
I got a rebate on the 2450 or the 1280, i forget which, but it came very quickly, a few weeks or a month maybe.

._._z
Amazon.com offers the Epson 3200 Photo $341.99 before a $100 mail-in rebate, $241.99 after. With free shipping.
jim_mcbride
If I spend $240 now, I won't have enough $ to buy the Epson 4870 when it comes out in February, '04 at about $500. The 4870 is said to be a big advance over the 3200.
._._z
But then you wouldn't have the money for the inevitable, next iteration/improved version. Of course, we're not talking about upcoming versions no one's ever touched but rather prices on a current model.
mbetea
I just put an order in at Dell.com for a 3200. $325.76 with no tax and free shipping. $225.76 after rebate. They're offering 10% off peripherals and software until 12/11. I'm not worried about the 4800 around the corner. I need a scanner now, not 3-4 months from now.
