richard_srienz
Maybe you can help me. I want to shoot a golfer while playing and want to use my Fuji S2pro. Any ideas how I can shoot just in the moment the club hits the ball. Is it possible to release the S2 with a photo sensor?
andrew robertson
Just fire off a burst when the downswing starts. A few of these and you should have what you're looking for.
ellis_vener_photography
Andrew has got it. Shoot and check.
richard_srienz
Thank you Andrew, thank you Ellis. But I don't think the S2 is fast enough, it makes around two pictures a second. Therefore my question about releasing it with a photo sensor. But I will try, digital film is cheap, and the golfer get's a little bit more experience. greg s
Your question is generic to any camera using a threaded mechanical cable release (N80, D100, etc, etc). Perhaps someone in the Nikon forum would know, though it sounds a bit tricky to convert the photo detect into a mechanical impulse (some kind of electromagnetic plunger thing-ama-job would be required). The N70 had an electronic release which I loved, and would be a piece of cake for your purposes. WHen I bought an S2, the first thing I missed was that release.
