raphael_yaron
I have to take continuous still pictures with the following requirements:A. The pictures have to be taken every 1 second.B. The camera should be controlled from a PC, and the pictures should be continuously transfered to the PC.C. The pictures should have at least 4 Mpixels. What is the best equipment to do the job? I still dont have the equipment, so everything is possible. Thanks in advance,Rafi.
larry_menzin
The only camera I am familiar with that can do this is the Kodak DCS 760. It can be controlled from a PC using Camera Manager and transfers pictures directly to the PC. The camera is a 6.1 Mpixel camera with a fairly large buffer. krisheylen
My Canon Powershot A20 came with Remotecapture. This program allows you to program shots and transfer directly to your harddrive. I don't know if the newer Canons still come with this software.
maureen_m
Easy. RemoteCapture with the 6MP Canon 10D and 300D. You can both set and operate everything on the camera remotely through the computer, just as if you were holding the camera in your hands. Even Interval and Timer shooting. jespdj
Probably most Canon PowerShot cameras come with Remote Capture - it was also included with my G3.
hyunyu
A word of caution re: Digital Rebel/300D and G3: since both of these have USB1.1 connections, the download time is going to be longer than 1 second--thus they won't be ready to take shots every 1 second before the buffer fills up real quick. wayne_seanard
The Fugi Finepix S2 Pro with the Hyper Utility software that allows you to control the camera with a computer via a firewire connection will do what you want. It has an interval shooting mode that allows you to set the interval between shots from 7 seconds to 120 minutes and set the number of shots from 1 up to almost 5800. wayne_seanard
I don't think any digital still camera can do that because they exaust their internal memory and can't download that fast. Evan the high end cameras like the Nikon 1d that can shoot 7 frames a second exausts its internal memory after 14 shots and you have to wait for it to catch up. I would think video would be more of the ticket. Just my thoughts.
digitmstr
CANON has employed that technology since the G2 and MANY of their cameras now use it. Look into their "G" family of camera as well as their DSRL. I know that 10D has that capability as well, I have used it with great success.
