roobiblue
Because i love macro photography, the only lense i got with my new Canon Digital Rebel 300D is the 100mm macro lense. but now i'm heading off to FotoFusion in Florida next month and would like to take a second "all purpose" lense with me. Does anyone have any suggestions for which lense i should take? and need it be a Canon lense? thanks for your replies....
charles barcellona www.bl
Well, you could always wait till you get there. At photofusion they have a shop that sells Canon at deep deep discounts (mail order comparable). You could try before you buy there.
charlie_vigue
The kit lens is reasonable, as is the 17-40 f4L, 16-35 f2.8L, 24-70 f2.8L (I really like this one) and the lens I currently use, the 28-135 IS. Any of those are pretty good walking around lenses.
navarra
You could get the 50mm 1.8 and/or the 28mm 2.8. This way you'll have 28-50-100mm with great quality lenses. Simone
omar_torres
That is exactly what I'd get. A 28 and a 50. Or if budget allows, a 24mm.
e_lin
50mmm 1.8 cheap and good.
Ken Katz
With the 1.6x crop, think super wide angle lenses or zooms (17-40L, 20-35USM, 20mm USM, or third party super wide angle zooms). The cheap Canon 50 MM f1.8 would round out your set for very little money ($70).
yakim_peled1
Define required focal length (or focal lengths) and budget. Happy shooting , Yakim.
