chris_ladoulis
I thought of this question since my Quantum Turbo battery is out in my car... and it's expected to be about 5 deg Fahrenheit here tonight. Is there any risk or problem leaving a sealed lead-acid(?) battery in below freezing temperatures? I don't have a manual, so I'm not sure what Quantum recommends in their literature. ._kaa
At sufficiently low temperatures a sealed lead-acid battery will freeze and rupture. It ain't gonna be pretty. What exactly constitutes a sufficiently low temperature depends on a bunch of factors, including how (dis)charged the battery is. However 5 degrees F is not low enough anyway. I am sure some Minnesotan/Canadian/Russian folk here know at which temperature it's not safe to leave a battery in a car that's spending the night outside, but it's much colder than 5 F. miles_feigenbaum___dallas_
The cold will suck the life from the bat. Instead of sitting in front of your computer, why don't you run out and fetch your bat? Now, buenas noches dude, I have some burgers on the grill and back to the pool for a midnight swim...
