grain
What does the little knob just below the viewfinder do? All else seems to work fine. I'll not be payng $20 for this one bit of trivia if I can count on our group for an answer. Thanks much in advance.
neal_shields
If you can pull it out and push it in, it is the meter switch and does nothing without a battery in the camera.
jim_shaw
Pulling out this knob disconnects the aperture control from the CdS (automatic) control. Twisting the knob in the out position allows the aperture to be set manually. The f-stop can be read through the viewfinder. Pushing the knob back in restores automatic control. For the automatic control to work properly the battery needs to be healthy and the inner 'dial' set to the correct film speed relative to the outer shutter speed dial. (We always used a light straw filter on our Dial 35 and this had to be removed if we changed film speed).
grain
Thank you, I finally figured out, by accident, the knob adjusts the apreture manually. I found a 48mm B+W Orange that I use on it, shooting HP-5. Color labs that will print half frame are scarce. Thanks for the help!
