waite_watson
Hello,I have a friend who wants a digital point & shoot for Christmas. This person knows next to nothing about photography & would only be using the camera for E-mail & maybe small (4x6") prints.I was thinking about something along the line of 2-3 megapixels.Browsing through Ebay I came upon a camera named after the lens on my C3....the Argus cintar digital at 2.1 MP for only $59.99 buy it now.Does anyone know if this is a decent camera?Recommendations are welcome.I don't want to spend alot of money on a gift but I don't want to buy her somthing that's complete rubbish either.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you. andrew robertson
Sounds like your targeted price range is rubbish. By the sound of it she wouldn't know the difference, so get her something cheap!
m_barberio
Waite, it probably isn't a decent camera. It sounds like 2.0 or 2.1 megapixels will meet your friends needs, but decent ones run over $100. Most people then buy a larger memory card on top of that, not to mention other items that are sometimes needed. Have you looked in the classifieds here? I don't know what you'll find, but it might be worth a peak.
joe_hodge
I bet any digital P&S will work for those purposes. Here is a sample from a low-end Fuji that my parents got for "free" for signing up with their ISP. It's OK for the web, and I'll have a 4x6 printed for non-critical purposes.
Thanksgiving Turducken.
