eric_calderwood1
I have just had a used Voigtländer 12mm Ultrawide Heliar sent to me by a UK dealer. The lens appears to be in mint- condition, however when i mounted the lens on my M6 i noticed some rotational play in the front section. IE the whole of the front including the body and f stop ring can move about 1mm either way.Has anyone else on the forum noticed this on their Voigtländer 12mm? pete1
No. Send it back. Mine is solid.
jay_.
I had to send back my first 21/4 because the focus ring slipped past infinity and froze up when I tightened it into the M adaptor with my thumb on the focus nub. Despite the a**-whupping I got and the a**-licking Kobayaski got on another thread, the CV lenses (even the best-built of them like the 28/1.9 and 90/3.5)are bantamweights in the durability department. Treated with reasonable TLC they're fine, but they're not Leica build-quality.
stephen_w.
The CV 35, 1.2 has the BEST mechanical feel than ANY lens I've EVER handled/used.
jay_.
<<Then again, Jay, Leica don't make a 12mm wide angle, do they?>> Or a 15 (the Hologon was Zeiss), or a compact 21 with a 39mm filter and decent performance (the Leica 21/4 was a bow-wow until f/11), or any way to guarantee any LTM or M lenses will be usable for more than macro or paperweights in a few years' time. stephen_w.
Now that I'm at home I've examined mine: there is a bit of play in the barrel. As it is hard to judge distance, I'd say it's normal. Steve
