Hasselblad FORMAT MASKS (41151)

Hi All,

 

Does the FORMAT MASKS (41151) fits my 500CM? Can you kindly tell me

your field experience about using it (6X4.5format mask) with 500CM?

Sorry to say the Format Masks will <b>not</b> fit your 500CM. They are designed to fit in a recess in the back of the body on the 501C / 501CM / 503CW / 503CXi and FlexBody cameras only.<p><a href="http://www.keithlaban.co.uk">www.keithlaban.co.uk</a>

The seller said it work perfectly on 500CM, although Hasselblad stated that it can't.

The mask you are looking for is # 42145, which is a clear mask for the 500CM.

I have used the format masks on a 500EL/M after carefully checking if the recess on older body is enough. It was, but it was hard to get the magazine blind sheet in. Second step, I opened (an older one) the magazine and removed the security pin which avoids removing the mag without the blind (Sorry for my bad english). After that, the masks worked very good on the EL/M (1974), should be as well on a C/M. As A-16 mags are cheap today, I purchsed one as an alternative, but still have the mask set.

or you can just crop the negative. I have the mask set, and the 16 back, I

never use the mask set. Here in the midwest, the 16 backs are very cheap,

I've seen them as low as $175.00 in good condition. the clear plastic inset

does help you visualize it however and that might be worth the price

I know that this is an old thread, so it's a shot in the dark, but does anyone have the Hasselblad instructions booklet for the format masks 41151? I purchased a set but not sure how to use the masks. Thanks Steve
