robert_macdonald
I am interested in picking up a volume of this book but am not surewhich one to buy. Does anyone know which volume covers screwmounts, lenses and early M's (don't have an M but still like to read aboutit). Any advice will be appreciated. george_l._doolittle
Twelth edition (1951-53) is the last covering totally screw- mount Leicas. Thirteenth (1955) covers SM and M. They are readily available and generally cheap enough that a person might find it worthwhile to get two or three various editions. Pricewise, I tend to see them in the $10-$15 range for fairly decent copies. They are a treasure trove of information.
peter_n1664876959
This is a wonderful book. There are copies of the 13th and the 14th editions currently for sale on eBay. I picked up a very clean copy of the 13th there about a month ago for US$5.00.
alex_lofquist
While perusing a classic old bookstore in downtown Cleveland (just off of the arcade), I saw they had many old Leica manuals including a couple of first editions. I bought one for $5 which has been a trove of knowledge. I don't know if the bookstore is still there or where it might be now, but it was probably the finest source I had ever seen. james_elwing
14th edition (1961)is good because it covers most of the crazy accessories and the last lenses made for TM, & new M lenses like the Summilux & Summicron 35, Elmarit 90, Summilux 50, Elmar 135 f4. It does not have enough about LTM for my liking, but enough use one. Chapters are not individually authored like earlier editions.
