Hassy SWC Screen question

Hi-

I have a SWC and a focus screen adapter #41051. I got the focus

adapter cheaply, so it made sense at the time. However, it does not

have gridlines, but more of a standard acute-matte type of screen.

I also have an older 500c, but the type where the screen is

changeable. I was thinking about getting a new Acute-matte D for this

camera. It then occurred to me that it might be possible to get a new

screen for the SWC adapter with gridlines, which would be helpful,

then put the screen from the adapter into the 500c.

It appears that the adapter holds a fresnel for gathering the light of

the biogon, but has a normal acute-matte inside. Is this the case?

It also looks like the two adapter faces could be unscrewed, allowing

the screen to come out, so that I could perform the switch. Does

anyone have an opinion on this?

Thanks,

Michael, try, it's very simply to take down a frame of a screen. Just press with a tumbs on each corner of a screen and you will see that inner frame appears. Outer steel frame has two springing edges bended inside. They play a role of a lock of a screen. Warning: dont touch with fingers matte(inner) surface of a screen.

Seems, the #41051' screen consists of two parts: a pure ground glass and a plastic fresnel. Meanwhile acute-matte-D is a whole plastic peace. (You have to measure a thickness of every part of screens and to determine a possible difference).

If the thickness of the above screens differs, both your cameras will be unadjusted. To solve this problem try to assemble the combination of frames and screens you have in order to reach a right screen thickness. Then check it when the camera lens is set on infinity. Good luck.
