david_henderson
We have a couple of EOS 10 cameras from early/mid 1990's. Neither now works and my expectation if I send it to the manufacturer is that they can't repair it or an expensive and uneconomic repair. I'd be happy to cannibalise to get one that works and the fault modes are unrelated. Anyone know a competent and fair repair source in the UK I could speak to? davidhudson
Hi David Did you consider claiming for repair on your house contents policy? I dropped my SVHS Video camera. There was no external visible damage but it would not record or image properly after the event. My insurance company collected the camera took it to their repairers who deemed it not cost effective to repair. They then paid me to get a new camera. Problem solved. Of course you have to have a 'New for Old' policy. If it had been repairable then it would have been free of charge!! At least going through an insurer your camera will be going to a reputable repair service and you don't get ripped off. What is insurance for?
