aa2000
Stephen, I'm from Bucharest, Romania, East Europe (a small country, known only by words: "Ceauceshcu", "Nadia", "Dracula", and "street kids"). Glad to meet you (all). Even if I have a decent revenue, I don't have so much money to spend on Leica gear. Anyway, for the moment my two 100% plastic Canon Rebel are all I need. I have a friend owning a Leica (in fact he own many Leica different models), and member of an international club or something, but funny, when we meet to take some photos, NEVER talk about camera gears. So I'm not familiar with these cameras, but I can understand they are a joy and a passion for they owners, both because quality and "feel" of the photos. My friend's shoots are really wonderful, but I'm sure he's able to make same photos with any kind of camera, including point-and-shoot. So I'm relaxed about my plastic toys. I rather feel that I need some photography or art studies than a new gear, because despite what some people said here (thank you), I think my photos suck somewhat. They look not so convincing to me or something... - I still looking to find out what is missing, and I hope this forum will help me in this way. bruno_menilli
Alexandru Eastern Europe is full of artistic people (I wonder if this is a result of the terrible hardships they have had to endure?), and I really hope you stay and post more photographs of your wonderful country, for everyone to share with you. nesrani
Very nice pictures indeed, Alexandru. Very accomplished and clean. I would say - if you really think there is something missing in your photography - that they are a bit too academic, a bit too perfect and lacking in spontaneity or a personal style, but very good work nonetheless. BTW - there is a picture of a cobblestoned lane at night going through an archway - is that taken in Tangiers? It reminds me very much of the casbah, near to the west seawall. nesrani
I'd like to add something to that: your pictures are excellent (I would say, textbook) exercises in composition. But what is lacking is a point of view, or a personal passionate involvement in your subject matter. You have the compositional aspects so well under control that it is a shame not to see your skills being put to use on something rather more substantial. achilles
Alexandru, Thank you for helping us discover your superb portfolio. While you will probably enjoy a lot shooting a Leica M at some point in the future, you work is a clear proof that the eyes of the photographer explain 99% of his photography. Since you are currently shooting Canon EOS, you can start using Leica R (SLR) lenses any time. With a Novoflex adapter, they fit perfectly well in EOS bodies. aa2000
Jonathan, you can pick one of them and I can enlarge it for you to A4 (~Letter) or Super-A3 (Super-B) size, on inkjet photo printer (Epson Photo 1290). For A4 sizes only and smaller, I can make it on minilab also.

Xinbad, The archway is in Sighisoara old towd, Transylvania county, Romania.
