michael_alpert1
For those of you who are traveling to Maine this summer, I thought I'd let you know about a major exhibit of George Tice's photographs, entitled Urban Landscapes. The show originated at ICP in New York. It will be at the University of Maine Museum of Art, 40 Harlow Street, in downtown Bangor, from July 18 through September 20 (hours: Tues-Sat 9- 6, Sun 11-5). There is also a fine exhibit of Edward Weston's prints in Portland (about a two hour drive south of Bangor). So, along with sunny days of picture-making, you can do some worthwhile picture-viewing. michael_alpert1
I neglected to state that the Weston exhibit is in the Portland Museum of Art until October 19. The museum is open during business hours seven days a week and on Friday evening until nine. It is located on Congress Street (seven Congress Square) in downtown Portland.
