Carl Stone
That's a good work around Eric, and one that I have been considering. As long the exposures remain in a time frame that I can manage with the "black cape" method, then I may get some good results. Since I've not yet tried doing this, I'm just guessing at this point. I had wanted to do this in A priority, probably around f/5.6-f/8, so I would expect some long exposures, tripod mounted naturally. As open as possible while maintaining that good DOF. Manual is always available of course, but I want to see what the F100 can produce on it's own, sort of. Actually, I'm the sort of person that tries to have all of the wrinkles smoothed out ahead of time, although I know that is highly unlikely. Vincent Taylor had a great sunset shot at about 1/2 second on Velvia, but he cheated, and used an F5, LOL. Just to give you an idea of what I'm up against, my wife wants a new sewing machine. An F5 is probably not in my near future, same for an 80-200 AFS, as those stinking machines are in the same price range as an F5 and good glass! Besides she's so talented at quilting, among other things, that I can't refuse. :o(
