bill_schmidt
I purchased a Nikkor 28-200 zoom from KEH. It was rated "bargain" andwhen it arrived yesterday I found it, as usual, to be in perfectoptical and nearly perfect cosmetic condition. However, the zoom ringand aperture ring are both "sticky". That is, if I turn them smartlyfrom end point to end point they work just fine but making smalladjustments is not smooth by any means. The zoom ring exhibitssignificant friction until enough force is applied and then it moves. The aperture ring seems to have the same amount of friction betweenf-stops as it does at them. In other words, the detents are notdefinate because of the amount of "stiction" between them. I realizethat this lens will not have the feel of my old AI and AIS lenses butdoes this description sound typical? I'm thinking of returning thelens and seeing if they have a better one as it's really notcomfortable to use, but if they are all like this I'll make adifferent decision. bill_schmidt
Just to make it clearer - I'm not talking about the "G" lens.
ranong
they have a great return policy. if you do not want it return it. get another if you want. i buy all my gear from KEH in bargain condition. the gear rated "bargain" are in what ui consider used but not abused condition. i have never had any problems with any of KEH stuff. soon i may try the "ugly" stuff for the realy expensive/ out of my price range lenses. cheers eddie
