Pentax 645 120mm macro lens qs

Who can tell me if the 120mm macro lens can also be used for portrait

work?

 

someone told me macro lenses are not very good for other than ..

Willie I believe that I said the P645 120 macro was difficult to use because of very touchy focusing.<P>Some of that is surely because I shoot hand held, spontaneous, instead of nailing my subjects feet to the floor in front of a tripod mounted camera. The macro lens is very sharp when the subject is in focus, unfortunately the lens focus throw is very sensitive throwing the subject into & out of focus with very little ring movement.<p>And having said that I'll add that I believe the 150 2.8 is a much better portrait lens.
