neal_vaughan
What are the dimensions (best as you can, please), of your lenses with the hood attached in the shooting position?
brady_dillsworth
The 80-200mm f-2.8 AFD with hood attatched is about 9.5X4".

rick_gray
My 2.8 AF-S Nikkor 80-200 with the HB-17 hood is 12 x 41/4. Cheers. Rick Gray
neal_vaughan
Brady, is that the one touch or two touch 80-200? The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to determine which kinisis cases will fit certain lenses in the ready to shoot position.
brady_dillsworth
This is the one touch version of the AFD lens. The dimension I gave is without the body attatched, but with the hood in shooting position.
Carl Stone
"Brady, is that the one touch or two touch 80-200? The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to determine which kinisis cases will fit certain lenses in the ready to shoot position." Neal, Check out the Tamrac 608 bag. Not cheap, but a great bag with great protection. If can get by without having the lens mounted in the bag, then B&H has the Lowepro S&F 500 AW at a bargain, $89.95. The bag is discontinued, and listed in B&H's used dept, but it's brand new in the original packaging, and $40.00 cheaper than the newer model that replaces it. Both of these bags will hold two camera bodies, 5-6 lenses, and flash unit. The Tamrac will let you keep the lens mounted, but it's $143.50, plus shipping, at B&H. neal_vaughan
Are the dimensions with hood attached of the two-touch version the same as the one touch version dimensions posted above?
neal_vaughan
Carl, thanks for the tips, but I'm set on the Kinesis system. It was expensive-$220 for the fairly basic setup I've got right now-and another $50 or so to hold the 80-200, but I'm very happy with it.
