Shots from the Blackout

I posted a small folder of images from the blackout to a photo.net <a href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=329713"> gallery. </a>

 

All Manhattan bridge pictures so far.. the rest is still in the frig. I was pretty disappointed in the local press coverage. Wasn't this a rare opportunity to get strangely lit shots of the city, not another occasion for flash abuse?

If anyone can point me to some cool documentation of the blackout, I'd appreciate it.

I love the Astro Van caught driving on the sidewalk, going against the flow of traffic at

the expense of the pedestrians. There always one like this in every crowd. IMO, the

50mm was a good choice here to show a slice of life at that moment. What would you

call the atmosphere in that shot, controlled confusion?

Snopes.com has an interesting little brief on why this photo is fake. I thought it particularly interesting to photo.net members. Fakery in the digital age is easy enough, that it can be excercised for entertainment value alone.
