lippe
I posted a small folder of images from the blackout to a photo.net gallery. All Manhattan bridge pictures so far.. the rest is still in the frig. I was pretty disappointed in the local press coverage. Wasn't this a rare opportunity to get strangely lit shots of the city, not another occasion for flash abuse?
If anyone can point me to some cool documentation of the blackout, I'd appreciate it. robert_byrd1
Good shots, E lippe. Get the rest of them out of the fridge and off to the lab so we can see them!
Carl Stone
"No lights in Chinatown" I love the Astro Van caught driving on the sidewalk, going against the flow of traffic at the expense of the pedestrians. There always one like this in every crowd. IMO, the 50mm was a good choice here to show a slice of life at that moment. What would you call the atmosphere in that shot, controlled confusion? lippe
Snopes.com has an interesting little brief on why this photo is fake. I thought it particularly interesting to photo.net members. Fakery in the digital age is easy enough, that it can be excercised for entertainment value alone.
Snopes, a site dedicated to confirming or disproving myths, rumors, allegations.
Enjoy..
